Meet Dr. Laura
Hello there, I’m Dr. Laura. Welcome to Compass Psychological Services!
I am passionate about helping my clients obtain quality and effective care in a warm, trusting, and collaborative environment.
My private practice fills several gaps that I see in psychological care in the Tampa area: boutique care for professionals and distance counseling for college students around Florida that require a higher level of care than their college counseling center can offer.
I provide in-person and Teletherapy services to individuals (teens to older adults), couples, and families. I have specialty training in the following areas: trauma, mood concerns (depression, bipolar disorder I/II, and anxiety), identity and confidence issues, life transitions, and grief.
I have focused training to work with couples (Gottman Level 1 certified) and individuals (Cognitive Processing Therapy certified & PEERS, young adult certified). I currently accept the following insurance: Aetna, Cigna, Optum and United Health.
In addition to working with my amazing clients in private practice, I am an adjunct instructor in the clinical psychology doctoral program at Florida School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University-Tampa, teaching couples and family therapy assessment and other foundational courses such as ethics.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, writing, and traveling.

Carrie has 15 years of experience in project management and as a c-suite executive assistant. With a knack for organization and a keen eye for detail, Carrie ensures the smooth operation of administrative tasks, enabling Dr. Laura to focus wholeheartedly on patient care.
Carrie prioritizes empathy, confidentiality, and professionalism when engaging with potential and current patients at Compass Psychological Services, LLC.
Dana Gordon
Marketing (Partnership with Compass Psych, Owner of Pirate Marketing)
Pirate Marketing focuses on both traditional and digital marketing, venturing between Fortune 200 corporations and small businesses. Dana’s favorite part of marketing is helping build a brand and charting a course to success with strategic marketing, communications, and advertising.
Currently, Dana celebrates the adventurous spirit of business owners, including partnering with Dr. Laura to bring awareness of the importance of mental health to the South Tampa community.
